Walk through the doors of Errigal College and you’ll immediately feel the warmth, passion, and community spirit that define this dynamic school.
On Thursday, 20th November 2025, Errigal College will welcome 5th and 6th class pupils and their families to its annual Open Night, from 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The evening is the perfect chance to see what makes Errigal College stand out, a place where academic excellence and genuine care go hand in hand, guided by the ethos of Excellence in Education, Care, Respect, Equality and Community.
“Our Open Night is about connection and possibility,” says Principal Danny McFadden. “We want families to feel the energy of our classrooms, the enthusiasm of our staff, and the pride our students have in their school. Errigal College isn’t just a school, it’s a community where every student is known, valued and supported.”
Visitors will be guided by current students who will proudly showcase their school and share their experiences. Families can explore the state-of-the-art STEM lab, a variety of specialist practical rooms, and the newly renovated canteen, which has quickly become a hub of school life.
While parents attend the Principal’s Address, pupils will take part in fun, hands-on taster sessions in Coding, Engineering, Home Economics, Wood Technology, Science, Music, Art, and Physical Education (PE), a true taste of life at Errigal College.
Errigal College offers a broad and balanced curriculum designed to develop each student’s academic, creative and personal potential. With innovative subjects such as Leaving Certificate Computer Science and Physical Education, the school prepares learners for a fast-changing world.
A strong system of academic mentoring and student support ensures that every young person receives the guidance they need to achieve their best, whether aiming for university, apprenticeships or employment.
“We focus on developing the whole student,” adds Mr McFadden. “We take pride in creating a culture where excellence is balanced with care, and where every young person is encouraged to be confident, kind and ambitious.”
Beyond the classroom, students enjoy a rich range of sporting and extracurricular opportunities, from football, rugby and basketball to music, dance and drama. Wellbeing is central to school life. A peer mentoring programme and dedicated first year induction help new students settle quickly and feel at home, while the inclusive atmosphere ensures everyone belongs.
Families considering Errigal College for September 2026 are warmly invited to attend the Open Night and experience why Errigal College is the right school for them. Online enrolment opened on Monday, 10th November 2025, and closes Monday, 1st December 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Enrolment applications and Open Night registration can be completed at www.errigalcollege.ie
