Errigal College parents are proactive in the life of the school and in their child’s education.
Their commitment to education and to Errigal College is evident in that parents are visibly present in the corridors, in the canteen, in the grounds, in the polytunnel, working constantly as part of the School Community Team. They are in tune with the ethos and mission statement of the school and their participation in school life is tangible and effective at every level.
Here are some of what our Parents have to say about Errigal College:
“The multicultural and diverse environment has made it easy for my son to make friends and adapt to his new school. He has become an active and valued member of the school's soccer and athletics teams, with many other extra-curricular activities on offer to him.
The remarkable discipline that the school has provides a safe place for my son and the other students, especially those they are from the minority population.”

“My son transferred to Errigal College in third year. He came with a very negative attitude towards school and learning in general. From the minute he joined, the school worked tirelessly to change this and to give him a positive experience of school. Two years later he now loves school. He is eager to learn and take part in classes and extra curricular activities. A huge effort is made by all the staff to ensure every single child feels welcome and valued. There is a wonderful community feel about Errigal College and my son has an enormous sense of pride in his school.”

“Coming from a Scottish Education background myself, I was very much into the Co-Educational environment that Errigal College offers. Errigal College is a school for all students and it shows a great support network.
It is definitely a school for the students to learn and to grow with.
Thank you to Errigal for your positive influences so far, to date.”

“Choosing a secondary school for your child can be a daunting task for any parent. Our biggest wish for our daughter is that she will be happy in school because we understand that this happiness ripples into all other aspects of her life. In light of this, we decided to involve our daughter in the decision-making process and allowed her the autonomy to choose the secondary school she wished to attend so that she would have a sense of ownership and responsibility for her own academic journey.
As parents, we were determined to support our daughter in making the most informed decision regarding her education. We attended Errigal College's Open Night, and right away, we could feel the enthusiasm, warmth, and inclusivity of the staff members. It was clear that this school is very active in all kinds of curricular activities and deeply committed to nurturing individual talents.
We've witnessed a remarkable transformation in her confidence, both socially and academically since starting at Errigal College. She is eager to learn and determined to do well. Looking back, I am immensely grateful that she made the choice to attend Errigal College, and we eagerly anticipate her journey through secondary school, knowing that she is in a safe, caring, and happy environment."

“The staff at Errigal College have been so supportive to us as a family since the day my son received a place in their school. Errigal has a wonderful, warm, welcoming atmosphere, where everyone is valued. The SEN department has gone above and beyond to help my son feel happy, safe and supported in school. It's very clear that the staff prioritise student wellbeing. My son is happy to go to school each day, and I can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work.”
