Teaching and Learning in our school is guided by our Teaching and Learning Team. This team includes senior leaders, middle leaders, subject teachers, members of the SEN department and other staff who have volunteered to contribute their expertise. The team meets regularly to identify priorities and develop targeted actions that support a consistent, high-quality approach to teaching and learning in the school.
Our Teaching and Learning Team is currently participating in The Learning Schools Project. The Learning School Project is an initiative to support the development of the school as a self-evaluating school, which is a key element of current national policy with particular reference to Looking at Our School (LAOS ‘22) and School Self-Evaluation 2022-2026 (SSE).
Our Aim for 2025/2026:
By June 2026, our school will utilise in-house teacher expertise to enhance classroom practice by establishing a structured internal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
Key Actions:
To achieve this, we are introducing a series of monthly “Lunch and Learn” workshops, designed and delivered by our own teaching staff. This initiative will:
- Harness staff expertise
We will identify teacher strengths and areas of expertise aligned with whole-school priorities through a staff survey. - Deliver regular CPD opportunities
A monthly schedule of workshops will provide practical, relevant strategies to support teaching and learning across subjects. - Share effective practice
Key ideas and strategies from each session will be recorded or summarised and shared with all staff to maximise impact. - Support continuous improvement
Staff feedback will be gathered after each workshop to refine and improve future sessions.
Through this collaborative approach, we aim to strengthen professional learning, encourage innovation, and build a culture of shared practice across the school.
This initiative reflects our strong commitment to improving teaching and learning by valuing and developing the expertise that already exists within our school.
